Co-hosted by the One Health Trust, Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, Global AMR R&D Hub, AMR Action Hub, the International Centre for Antimicrobial Resistance Solution, the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations, FIND, and the Infectious Diseases Society of America and supported by the U.S. Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention. Ahead of the UNGA high-level meeting on AMR in September, this Lancet series was launched at a side event during the 2024 World Health Assembly in Geneva. The authors, AMR experts, policymakers, and civil society members discussed the current burden of AMR, the need to expand antibiotic access and innovation, and to promote the establishment of global targets and governance for action.
